In the midst of forest fires, toxic air, loss of home and security, and political strife - it's good to be reminded that our world is verg very large. There are about 7.8 Billion human lives on earth. Our world is large and diverse and good.
7,800,000,000 people in the world = 1,814 Oregons (our state).
7,800,000,000 people in the world = 23.5 United States of America.
Yes, the USA only contributes 2.36% of the world's population. Or perhaps we can say, let's focus on 97.64% of human life more often. : )
For all of our Brazil Monte Carmelo fans out there - here is a heart warming email that came to our founder, Pete Miller, and our QC Coffee Buyer, Paul Allen, at Caravan Coffee.
For years we have worked in various coffee growing communities in Brazil. This one comes from Bahia, and we are proud to roast their coffees in order to contribute to their well being. Thank you for being a part of this joy!

"Hello Pete
I hope this finds you well! I just wanted to provide you with an update on the use of your most generous gift earlier this year.
Due to delays in securing dental equipment due to COVID-19 and the temporary closure of our partner school FAMEC due to the pandemic, we re-allocated your most generous gift of $1,343.99. Your gift provided "basic baskets" of healthy, nourishing food to feed the families of FAMEC in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil and also to feed families in the more remote coffee growing community of Vila do Café, also in Bahia. The attached picture is of the food basket distribution at FAMEC. I am also delighted to send you this video from 16-year-old Raquel, from the coffee growing community of Vila do Café, in which she says:
"Hello, my name is Raquel, I'm 16 years old, I live with my mom, my brother, and my stepfather. My mom had surgery recently and my stepfather, he works in agriculture. Only it's difficult for him to find work. It's day labor and when the harvest time comes. In the period when she had surgery, we were going through some need here at home. So the food basket arrived at a very good moment for us. We are very grateful for the food basket and it made us very happy."Youtube Video Link: https://youtu.be/Jgo18-AoSyw
Also, just FYI, we are starting new programs and branching out. We remain grateful for the support of Caravan Coffee trading partners. We also have a new "doing business as" name, Generative Partners, and a new website.
