Our Barista Show-Down last Saturday was a huge success! Six barista competitors from miles around wowed us with their skills, their dedication to coffee quality, and their honor for each person who has worked in the coffee chain. We saw lots of creativity too!
Our first barista competitor was Courtney Croft, representing Java the Hut.
Up next was Isaiah Pottle, of H&H Coffee Company.
And Maeghan Hebert of SouthStore.
Nick Walton of Mud River Coffee & Chrysalis came next.
Then Sam Nelson of Java the Hut.
Lastly, Cole Werfulman of SouthStore.
The event was a huge success, and young Courtney Cole was our first place winner! She receives a 2.5-day barista class at the American Barista & Coffee School, valued at $2500.
Second place winner was Cole Werfulman, and Nick Walton came in third. Each competitor wowed us in different ways and we are honored to have welcomed them to our space. All proceeds for this event went to the Newberg Area Habitat for Humanity.
If you came out to support us, the baristas, and the Habitat for Humanity, thank you! If you weren’t able to make it, check back in next year, when we go bigger and better!
